Mahima Ministries Oldage Home – Vikarabad

In the year 2005, when Mr Maharaju garu was living in Suraksha colony. There was an old destitute lady by name Mallamma who was looking for shelter, Mr Maharaju volunteered to take her into his house. Though it was a challenge the family accepted it. Few weeks passed and there was another lady by name Subadhara along with her daughter joined them. This led to the beginning of Mahima Ministries NGO. The number of people started increasing.

In the year 2012 The old age home was shifted to Kothagadi, Vikarabad.

Men: 42
Women: 24

Most of the oldaged people at Mahima Ministries are destitute, who are sometimes picked up on road side, poor families who are unable to take care of their elderly. In the year 2019, we came up with an MOU with TATA TRUST, with an agreement that they would refer the oldaged in need of care and protection to us, in exchange they would help us connect to various supporting partners. Even police also drop them at our centre. Mahima Ministries don’t charge anything from the oldaged. The support generated as a whole NGO is used for their care and protection.

During the recent times Government made it mandatory to have a licence to run a oldage home. Which we are having. As a home we follow all the rules and regulation in taking care of elderly as per the norms of the Government. We are under the surveillance of the Women, Elderly and Child welfare department, with regular inspections.

Mahima Ministries provide them food, shelter, cloths and medical care. In case if anybody dies, we will inform the same to the authorities as well as to their relatives. If in case there is no contact person, Mahima Ministries staff will the after rites as per the individual’s faith with local people support.

We are looking forward to get an ambulance service, so that we would serve them better, especially during any medical emergencies or death’s to shift the bodies.
