Pathways to Higher Education

Students who complete our vocational training and wish to pursue higher education can join our Higher Education Support Programme.

Through this initiative, we provide shelter, food, continued skills development, and sponsor external college/university enrollment by fundraising for tuition, fees, books, and overall student welfare.

Mahima Ministries — Ameenpur, Telangana

A registered Indian non-profit working since 2005 with abandoned elderly people and children from families below the poverty line, based at Ameenpur in Sangareddy district, Telangana. Registration No. 536/2005 under the Societies Registration Act, 2001. PAN AABAM0005D.

What we run

Two old age homes — 70 residents at our Ameenpur campus and 70 at our Vikarabad (Kompally) branch, 140 in all. Most were left behind by their families. Many have no Aadhaar card and no ration card, so no government pension or food scheme reaches them, and their care is funded entirely by donors.
An upper primary school on the Ameenpur campus for children from families living below the poverty line — teaching, books, uniforms and two meals a day.
Three meals a day for everyone in our care — about 433 meals daily, including an evening meal for around 50 children who would otherwise go without.
A new home at Chandala, Kruthivennu mandal, Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh, under construction, and Ilapur Care Home at Ilapur Thanda, Telangana, coming soon.

What it costs

A complete lunch or dinner for everyone at Ameenpur costs ₹6,000, or ₹7,500 with a non-vegetarian curry; breakfast for everyone costs ₹2,120. Those figures include the cooking gas, the vegetables and the cook's wages, not ingredients alone. Feeding everyone comes to about ₹4,23,600 a month, and running the entire organisation to about ₹4,50,000 a month. A full academic year at our school costs ₹20,000 for one child.
